Personal Vehicle Size Restrictions
AAA Transporters Hawaii defines a personal vehicle as any self-propelled unit that measures less than the following: 21 feet 8 inches in length, 8 feet in width, and 7 feet in height.
Vehicles with a weight in excess of 6,000 lbs. may be subject to additional shipping and handling charges. If your vehicle exceeds these restrictions; please contact our Oversized Cargo AAA Transporters Hawaii Sales Group to receive a shipping quote for your vehicle..
Picking Up Your Vehicle at Destination
Once the ship has departed the origin port, an Arrival Notice will be sent to the Consignee's Email and/or Mailing Address. A AAA Transporters Hawaii Representative will contact you to schedule an appointment to pick up your vehicle. Please bring the Arrival Notice and a Photo ID when picking up your vehicle. (Note: A notarized letter of authorization is required if anyone other than the person named on the shipping documents will pick up your automobile).
We urge you to pick up your automobile promptly to avoid payment of storage charges. A storage fee (at all ports) of $25 per day will be assessed for vehicles left beyond the complimentary free time.
Payment Terms
Payment must be made prior to or at time of delivery to our port facility in one of the following ways: Credit Card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Debit Card) Cashier's Check, Traveler's Check Money Order. Prepayment by credit card can be made over the phone by calling our Customer First Hotline and providing the following information: Name of credit card holder, address, Type of Credit Card, Credit Card Number and Expiration Date. Please note: Credit card payments will be processed at the time of booking. Liability Limits We take every precaution to ensure each vehicle we transport is handled with care. In the unlikely event your vehicle is damaged during the shipment process and AAA Transporters is responsible for that damage, our liability is limited to the cost of repairs for damage actually sustained to your vehicle, not to exceed the market value of your automobile and, in no event, more than $10,000.
Automobiles are designed for road use and may acquire small chips, scratches, scuffs, dents, abrasions or similar marks. AAA Transporters Hawaii Transport Lines LLC as a carrier does not accept liability for minor damage of this or similar nature which is considered to be normal wear and tear. Inspection of the vehicle prior to shipment represents the vehicle’s general overall condition and excludes normal wear and tear damage. Our policy regarding transit related damage can be found as Rule 20 in our AAA Transporters Hawaii Logistics. This liability limit can be increased for the port-to-port segment of your shipment if you declare the value of your vehicle to the AAA Transporters Hawaii Sales Representative at the time you book your vehicle for shipment. An additional charge of 2% of the entire declared value (the initial $10,000 limit of liability provided by AAA Transporters is not deducted from the value.) will be added. Please check with your personal insurance carrier to determine the extent of your coverage relating to marine transportation.
Vehicle Inspection
AAA Transporters Hawaii inspects your vehicle and prepares a survey report when you deliver your vehicle to our port facility. This survey is performed for the benefit of AAA Transporters Hawaii and the vehicle owner to document the condition of the vehicle upon receipt at the port. Pre- existing damage will be noted and verified by you or your designated agent. Automobiles are designed for road use and may acquire small chips, scratches, scuffs, dents, abrasions or similar marks. The AAA Transporters /AAA Transporters Hawaii Transport Lines LLC as a carrier does not accept liability for minor damage of this or similar nature which is considered to be normal wear and tear. Inspection of the vehicle prior to shipment represents the vehicle’s general overall condition and excludes normal wear and tear. Batteries may become discharged during our possession and AAA Transporters cannot be responsible for replacing dead batteries. Note: AAA Transporters does not inspect the interior or the general mechanical condition of the vehicle and as such cannot be responsible for interior damages or mechanical failures. All vehicles are expected to be in a drivable condition. You will be asked to inspect your vehicle at the destination port to ensure your vehicle is delivered to you in the same condition. Should you note any exceptions, please document it and notify your AAA Transporters Hawaii representative prior to leaving the port facility.
Filing a Claim for Loss or Damage
In the unlikely event your vehicle sustains damage while in our care; we will act promptly to settle your claim within the limits of our contractual liability. To expedite the processing of your claim we will require you to fill out a claim form at the time you receive your vehicle at destination. Any loss/damage not noted at that time will not be considered. Once your claim notification is received by the claims administrator, you will be contacted via email or by phone within 48 business hours and will be provided with additional instructions
